The SILWERSTRAND GOLF AND RIVER ESTATE is approaching its second summer season and is now starting to fulfil its potential as the country’s premier rural golf and lifestyle estate. As the once-sleepy town of Robertson grows, so does the estate. Robertson is fast becoming the next Franschoek, but with its own truly South African identity.
The golf course is looking more spectacular by the week, with the fairways becoming lush and the trees filling out beautifully. The Robertson Golf Club has already successfully hosted 3 major provincial tournaments to date, the Boland Open, The Boland U/23’s and the South African Schools Championships. And all of this whilst the course was only 15 months old! Full credit to the management and staff of the golf club for stepping up to the plate and setting the standard for a memorable yet affordable country golfing experience.
Notwithstanding the severity of the global economic crisis, there has been tremendous interest shown in the properties on the estate over the past few months. With only 69 freehold properties still available on the golf course, and 46 townhouses up for grabs, it is only a matter of time before the estate is sold out. There is currently a frenzy of building activity on the estate, with 22 having been completed and 9 under construction as at the beginning of December 2009. A much needed addition to the estate will be the construction of an “Assisted Living” centre. This will afford those more advanced in years the opportunity of living on the beautiful estate, alongside the golf course but with the added bonus of having specialised medical assistance on your doorstep ! The construction of the SILWERSTRAND RESORT HOTEL AND SPA was started earlier this year, but this has been put on hold until more sales are realised.
